conforming to the tradition of the previous international libs conferences, libs 2014 will provide a platform for scientists and researchers in the field, engineers from the industry, as well as graduate students to exchange their ideas, experience, and achievements in all aspects related to the research, development, and applications of libs. the format of the conference will consist of invited speakers, oral and poster presentations on new developments and results, and a technical exhibition of recent developments in libs instruments and related products. worldwide libs　experts will be invited to deliver short courses before the opening of the conference. social events will be organized to facilitate informal discussions between the participants. the gala dinner will be hosted inside the summer palace with chinese traditional art performance, where the last emperors of china spent their summer holidays, providing a unique and joyful environment for communicating with libs colleagues. awards will be reserved for the best posters presented by students.
